Who is Colorado History Directory

Dianne,Ingrid, and Doris
The Centennial State, CO, United States
Dianne: My family arrived in Colorado in the late 1870's. I was blessed beyond measure to spend many summers at the family cabin where our drinking water came from the mountain streams and our meals were cooked on a wood burning stove. I have a strong connection to my family history and history in general. While friends my age were in love with the teen idols of the time, my heart belonged to the outlaws of the American West. I can't begin to express the excitement I have in being able to promote and encourage others to learn the vibrant history of Colorado.
Ingrid: I, like Dianne, am passionate about this state's history. I am a "transplant" with roots from a military family. History has been tugging on me since childhood. I discovered a relative who had come to Colorado in 1860. He played a major role in Colorado City and then in Colorado Springs. As casual research became an insatiable appetite for information, I began to realize what history in this state has been all but forgotten. Every stroll through a pioneer cemetery leads me to wonder who were these people? What did they do? Why did they come here? What will future generations want to know about us?
